      Aircel Organizes ‘Aircel Premier Cricket League’ for Trade Partners 

      Hyderabad, April 26, 2015:In its unwavering commitment to its trade partners and employees in Andhra Pradesh, Aircel, one of India’s leading telecom players, organized an exciting cricket tournament ‘The Aircel Premier League’. The cricket tournament which started on 5th April, 2015 brought together both trade partners and employees of Aircel under one platform to play some fun- filled and engaging cricket matches. The quarter finals and the finals were held at the Sarojini Devi Cricket Club, Hyderabad on April 25, 2015 and had a total of seven matches. The highlight of the tournament was the very special and exciting match played between Cricket Association for the blind in Telangana and Aircel Team. The match was a friendly match between the two team. Team Cricket Association for the blind in Telangana consisted of players who have had a representation at the world cup level of the visually impaired. It was also a first time ever that a match was played by them against a corporate team.

      At the celebratory match, Mr Madhavulu, Captain of the Cricket Association for the blind in Telangana said, “it is extremely encouraging to play against corporates like Aircel who has given us an opportunity to demonstrate our cricketing skills. On behalf of my entire team we are delighted to play this friendly match against the Aircel team and would like to thank them for the opportunity given to us. We look forward to many more such event that gives us a chance to play cricket at a level playing field despite our disability”

      Cricket Association for the blind in Telangana is run by I &eye organization which support the children in need to have a better life and career prospects. I & Eye strives its best to see that the children challenged by various aspects of life, grow independent and become capable of supporting others.

      The tournament saw an enthusiastic participation by trade and employees from all the locations in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. There were total of 20 league , 4 quarter finals ,2 semi final matches played over more than 2 weeks. The team names were - Aircel Super Kings, Warangal warriors, Vijayawada Veerulu, Tirupathy Tigers, Old city Nawabs, Secunderabad Singhams and Hyderabad Heroes.

      The tournament was won by Old city Nawabs team and the runners up were Warangal Warriors. The trophy to the winning teams was handed over by Hardeep Johar, Circle Operations Head - Andhra Pradesh, Aircel.

Cricket is what everyone talks about these days, and today Aircel has made us into cricket superstars. I am very pleased to have been a part of the ‘Aircel Premier League’ which was filled with excitement and enthusiasm. I am really grateful to Aircel for the wonderful time we all had in the past few days.
