          • What is Peek?
            Peek is a dedicated email device marketed by Aircel. Peek helps ensure reliable and automatic delivery of your emails – personal or official in real time using GPRS, wherever Aircel network is available.
          • Where can I buy this device? Is this sold through AIRCEL outlets only or through retailers as well?
            Peek service is available exclusively on Aircel.Peekdevice is available through Aircel stores nationwide and Croma, e-Zone and Staples stores.
          • Can I use the service while roaming? What are the roaming charges?
            There are additional charges of 10p/10kb for using Peek on National Roaming within India. Currently, International roaming is not available on Peek.
          • How can I reach the Customer Services for Peek support?
            To reach the Aircel Customer Care for Peek, you can dial 121 from an AIRCEL number or you can dial the Aircel customer care phone number for your circle. Please click here to find out which number to call.

             

            Product Features

          • How many email accounts can a customer access through Peek?
            Peek supports adding up to 3 email accounts on a single Peek device. These accounts can be from the same domain or different domains. They can all be used at the same time.
          • How much storage space does the Peek have?
            Peek can store a maximum of 5000 emails and up to 1000 contacts.
          • What is the maximum size of attachment that can be opened on this device?
            Peek can support attachments up to 10 MB.
          • What is the speed of this service to download mails/ attachments?
            Peek receives new email within 5-15 minutes after the email is sent to an address registered on the device. The time required to download an attachment varies depending on the size of an attachment.
          • Does this device support SMS facility?
            Peek is an email only device and does not support SMS or Voice.
          • Can I browse the Internet or download applications on this device?
            Currently, Peek does not have an Internet browser, and does not allow downloading or installing any applications on the device.
          • Can the Peek device be used with other network operators?
            Peek is available exclusively through Aircel. The Peek device is not network locked, however the Peek service is locked with the Aircel network and hence would not work on any other network.
          • Can I access “enterprise email” on this device?
            Peek currently supports any enterprise email system that supports POP3 or IMAP connectivity. Peek also supports Microsoft Exchange.             Usage

          • How would I know that I’ve got an email on the Peek?
            You may set up the device to receive any or all of 3 notifications when you get new email.
            LED blink indicator- blinks 3 times in rapid succession every few minutes when the Peek has new unread mail.
            Vibrate alerts- Peek vibrates when new mail arrives. The intensity of the alert can be set inside Peek Manager.
            Ring alerts-Peek emits a sound alert when new mail arrives. The volume and alert style can be set inside Peek Manager.
          • How would I know which email ID on my Peek a specific email was addressed to?
            In order to keep things simple, Peek delivers email addressed to all registered email IDs to a single unified Inbox. The customer can check which email ID the email was sent to by opening an email and looking at the 'To: field'. You can search for email sent by a particular sender or having a particular subject or date by using the 'Search this folder' menu option inside the Peek menu.
          • How do I choose the email ID used to send email on the Peek?
            You have an option to choose which email address from which you wish to send email from by clicking on the drop down list next to the ‘From’ field on the compose email page. Any email address registered on the Peek device may be used to send email.
          • An I also download attachments on Peek? If yes then what is the maximum size of file that can be downloaded? Also what all types of file attachment can be viewed on Peek?
            The attachments can only be viewed on the Peek, as it does not support the option to download them or edit them.
            Text extracted from MS Word, Excel and PDF attachments can be viewed on the Peek. During the conversion of attachments to clear text, font formatting, table formatting, images, some formulae, unusual symbols, and tracked changes and comments may be lost. For Word and Excel, versions 97 through 2007 are supported. Scanned images contained within a PDF will not be visible on Peek. Password protected files will not be accessible on Peek..
            Most image formats such as JPG, GIF, BMP, and many others can also be viewed on the Peek.
          • If there are images inside the document then can that be viewed?
            Peek currently only displays the text contained within the document.
          • Can I open audio and video files attached on this device and run them?
            Peek currently does not allow opening or saving audio and video. However, if you have received audio or video content as attachments, you can forward them.
          • Can I send mails with attachments from this device?
            Attachments cannot be created on Peek. However, if you receive attachments, you can forward them.
          • Can I connect this Peek with laptop/ desktop and use it as modem to connect to the Internet?
            Peek is an email device and cannot be used as a modem to connect a laptop/desktop to the Internet.
          • DoesPeek download a copy of email sent by a sender or does it download the original email?
            Peek only downloads a copy of any email sent to you. The same email would be available to you later through your webmail or your Outlook Inbox.

            If you regularly use a POP mail client like Outlook, you would need to enable your software to ‘Leave a copy of the message on server’ so that Peek can download the email that your email client has already downloaded.
             

            Sales & Service

          • What is the warranty period for the Peek device?
            The device carries a warranty against manufacturing defects for a period of 1 year, under which Peek will repair or replace any defective product. Accessories like batteries and chargers would be covered only for a period of 6 months. Warranty does not apply to product damaged by customer abuse including but not limited to broken screen, fallen Peek devices, and damage to devices due to liquid.
          • If I am having issues with the Peek device then how do I get help?
            First off, you should call customer care and explain the situation to them. Customer care will try and solve your issues. For any issues with hardware or accessories, you would need to contact the Peek service center. Click here to find a Peek service center near you. Alternatively, you can also take the device to an Aircel store if you live in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, or Chennai. Click here to find the Aircel store closest to you.
          • In case the Peek device has to be replaced due to malfunctioning or breakage then canI get the existing mails on the device transferred to a new/ replaced device?
            Peek currently does not allow copying email messages and other user information from one device to another.
          • In case the accessory like battery, charger of this device is lost/ damaged, then how can I get a new one?
            You may purchase the accessories like batteries or chargers directly from the Peek service center. Click here to find a Peek service center near you.
          • How frequently can I change my email accounts on Peek? How soon would they take to get effective?
            There is no limitation on the number of times a user can change their email accounts on Peek. It takes 5-15 minutes to start receiving email on a newly configured email account.
          • Peek downloads attachments. Does this mean we have to install anti-virus updates on this device?
            Anti-virus is not required on this device because email messages and attachments are pre-processed at the server.
             

            Procuring the Device

          • How do I buy Peek?
            Peek is currently available in all Aircel Stores and Croma, e-Zone and Staples stores. It is available with both Prepaid and Postpaid service plans that offer unlimited email for a flat fee.
          • I am already using a postpaid connection from Aircel, can I use Peek with my connection?
            You need to buy a new Aircel connection for using Peek service. Peek is an email device and is available with a dedicated SIM card that only supports DATA services. So, you cannot use your current postpaid connection with Peek.
          • Is Peek available in other Circles as well?
            Peek is available across all 18 Aircel circles. Once you use Peek you can use it in any Aircel circle across India usingAircel’s national roaming network.
          • I am using a Prepaid Aircel connection; can I migrate my number to a postpaid connection and use Peek?
            Currently, you would need to buy a new postpaid ora new prepaid connection specifically for Peek on a Peek plan.
          • What are the formalities and documentation requirements for getting Peek with a new Aircel Postpaid or Prepaid connection?
            You can visit your nearest Aircel Store to purchase both the Peek device and get a new Aircel Postpaid or Prepaid connection on the Peek rate plan. Before going to the Aircel store, kindly make ensure that you carrythe following documents with you, since you would be required to fill up the Customer Enrollment Form(CEF) and Peek Enrolment Form (PEF):

            • Photo ID,
            • Address proof,
            • Apassport-size photograph

            You would also need to provide an Alternate Contact number – Mobile or Landline (mandatory)and an Email address (optional) to enable us to contact you with latest updates about Peek and Aircel Services.
          • Once I purchase Peek and fill up the required forms, how much time will it take for Peek to get activated?
            For new postpaid connections, Once AIRCEL activates the Peek SIM, you’re ready to register your email address on the Peek. Depending on when you submitted the documents for activating your Peek SIM and the verification of your address, the SIM activation process may take from a few hours up to a maximum of72hours.

            For new prepaid connections, once your retailer activates the Peek SIM, you’re ready to register your email address on the Peek. In some cases, activation may take up to 4 hours.
          • What is the cost of Peek and what are the usage charges
            The cost of Peek device is Rs. 3999.

            In Postpaid, you would also need to subscribe to the Peek plan for Rs. 299 per month for unlimited emails.

            In Prepaid, you would need to recharge with Rs. 299 for 30 days of unlimited email service or Rs. 89 for 7 days of unlimited email service.
             

            Account Management – SIM & MSISDN

          • I would like to change my Aircel mobile number?
            The option to change your Aircel mobile number is currently not available
          • My SIM card has gotten damaged, how can I get a new SIM card?
            In case your Aircel SIM card is damaged, please visit the nearest Aircel store and get a new SIM card. The replaced SIM card would be activated within 4 hours.
             

            Billing & Collection

          • How can I check my Prepaid balance on Peek?
            Peek is an email device with an unlimited plan, so there is no information about the unbilled amount available in the system. Prepaid users may check the number of days left by clicking on Account Balance from the Balance Recharge menu. An email with the number of days of service left will be sent to your Peek.
          • How can I pay my Peek bill?
            You may pay your Peek bill in cash, by cheque or by credit card at any Aircel Store. You can also pay by creditcard on our website.Click here to pay your bill online now.
             

            Deactivation & Retention

          • I am moving to a different location, can I use the same Peek device on the Aircel network?
            You may use the same Peek device in any Aircel circle. You may disconnect the present number and purchase a fresh Peek connection at your new location.
             

            Troubleshooting

          • I bought a Peek today. I took the SIM out of the packet and put it in my Peek. I turn on the Peek and I see a red X or red crossin the top part of my screen. What's wrong?
            • Have you inserted the SIM correctly as shown in the quick start guide? Please try removing the SIM card and putting it in again
            • Please turn off your Peek and turn it on again and wait for at least 2 minutes
            • If you still see a red-X, then please call Aircel Customer Care to find out whether your SIM card has been activated for Peek service. Please Click here to find out which number to call for reaching Aircel Customer Care.
          • I got a Peek yesterday as a gift from my husband. I took the SIM out of the packet and put it in my Peek. I turn on the Peek and see many green bars in the top part of my screen. When I click the continue button I get an error. Why? Which error do you get?
            • "We are having trouble connecting to the network" The most likely cause for this error is that the Peek service on the SIM card is notyet active.
              If your services are not activated after 72 hours in postpaid, or after 4 hours in prepaid then please call Aircel Customer Care. You will need to provide the 20-digit SIM number printed on the SIM packet or on the Peek Help screen so that the care agent can check your account.
              "Your billing rate plan is not set up properly on this SIM. Please try again or call your network operator for help. Visit http://www.site2preview.com/aircel_2010/peek/faqs.aspx# for more." Please restart your device and try again. If the problem persists after a few hours, then please call Aircel Customer Care. Alternatively, you can send an email to care@getPeek.in with the user's cell phone numberso we can that your number is set up in the Peek system.
               
            • "Your data connection is not yet active. It can take up to 48 hours to activate your Peek SIM."
              The most likely cause for this error is that the Peek service on the SIM card is not yet active. If your services are not activated within 72 hours after buying the SIM in postpaid, or after 4 hours in prepaid then please call Aircel Customer Care. You will need to provide the 20-digit SIM number printed on the SIM packet or on the Peek Help screen so that the care agent can check your account.
          • I am roaming into Bhopal, MP. I see a red-X. Please help.
            Peek does not currently work in circles where Aircel network is not present, namely Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.

            If you are roaming in any other circle and Peek is not working properly, please select the Aircel network manually using the steps below:

            • Please go to Peek Manager.
            • Click on 'Network'. Click on 'Network Selection' and click 'Manual'.
            • Wait for about a minute for the list to populate with the available carriers in the area. Then click on the AIRCEL partner network that may show up as 405 800 for Delhi or 405 803 for Bangalore or a different code in other circles. If you don’t know which network to select, please call Aircel Customer Care and ask them the 6 digit network code starting with 404 or 405.
            • You will get a message confirming the selected network. When you return to your home city, restart your Peek and it will select AIRCEL network automatically after 5 minutes.

            In case you get an error saying, “Sorry, we were unable to get the network service provider list. Please try again later.”Please try again after some time and if it still fails then try again from a different location. In case you get an error saying,“Peek was unable to register on the selected network. Please try again.”This can happen when the signal strength of the selected network is low. Please try again after some time and if still fails then try again from a different location.
          • I am a prepaid user. How do I check the balance on my account?
            Click the scroll wheel and scroll down to select 'Balance/recharge'. Then click on 'Account Balance'. Your balance will be sent to your Peek as an email in a few minutes.
          • I have sent an email from my Peek but therecipient has not received the emails.
            Open the ‘Sent folder’, by clicking the scroll wheel, and selecting 'Sent folder' from the list. Is the email you sent in the Sent folder? If No, then try restarting your Peek and try sending the email again.
            If the email is in the Sent folder, Isthe email in Italics or is it in regular/ bold font?

            • If Italics. Try Send/Receive. Please turn your Peek off and on and then try again. If still not resolved, then the GPRS network may not be working correctly in that area. Please try again in a few hours
            • If Bold/Regular.If the email is in bold/regular font and still not received by recipient after 30 minutes, then please call Aircel Customer Care and describe your situation.

             
          • I set up my email correctly and got a Welcome to Peek message in my inbox. But, I have not seen any email yet. What's wrong?
            • You need to wait for 5-15 minutes before you see your first email. If you still don’t see any email after 30 minutes, then please send another test email to your email account, restart your device and try again. Ensure that you are in a good coverage area when trying to receive email.
               
            • Are you using a POP account on your Peek? IfYes, please ensure that you enable the mail client (Example: Outlook, Eudora, Notes, Entourage, etc.) to 'Leave email on server'. Doing this will simply leave a copy of the email on the server even after you've downloaded it on your computer, so that Peek can download it as well. Check out the www.getPeek.in for more details in how to do this for your particular mail client.
               
            • I've been waiting with the Peek ON for the past 30 minutes. Still no email. This is a rare but important case. Please ensure that you have the email address in question that is registered on the Peek, your Peek MSISDN, and your alternate contact number available when you call Aircel Customer Care. Alternatively, you can send email address in question that is registered on the Peek, your Peek MSISDN, and your alternate contact number from your computer or your Peek to care@getpeek.in.
